Biker Babes!

For Easter weekend we went on our annual Easter 4Wheeler excursion out by the Lake with all of our family on my side. Even though it was a little chilly we ended up having a great time! Madi even went on a little ride with Mom and Dad. We did have a little mis-hap however. I had tried to cover her little face with sunscreen and apparently I missed a spot - a big spot! right under her left eye on up on her nose. She got FRIED!! The next day her little face was swollen and she had a blood-shot eye! Poor kid! It is amazing how quickly their little skin heals. She is looking better each day. We managed to get a picture but I don't have it today. I will try to get a copy and get it posted ASAP. So, back to the excursion. We had a picnic with our families and me trying to be the good wife, found some awesome looking GIANT hamburger patties at the grocery store. Everyone knows that hamburger patties shrink in the grill so I thought they would be perfect. Well, apparently I was wrong. I don't think our patties shrunk, I think they GREW in the grill. Get a load of this.....

Happy Easter!!

We hope everyone had a great Easter!!! On Saturday March 22, 2008 we loaded up our little family and a few spares and headed to the annual Ken Garff Easter Egg Hunt in Orem. We got there around 8:30 and huddled around the little lawn filled with several eggs. We axtiously awaited the green light and as usual Madi was a gem! She was so cute to just sit with Dad and wait to go and pick up eggs. We went in with a game plan, I dressed her in her vest so that she would have perfect mobility and be able to reach the eggs all by herself. The time came to go and pick up eggs and Bryon ran off on to the lawn with Madi in tow and to our dismay, there are a LOT of greedy parents out there! Little Madi didn't even get a chance to pick up any eggs on her own! Her age group was 0-3 yrs old. Parents were NOT supposed to pick up any eggs. Apparently several of the parents didn't get the memo. There were grown adults pushing children out of the way to get eggs. Unbelievable! Good thing dad was there to help Madi. Some lady tried to throw her weight around and rammed into Bryon and almost fell over (Bryon is a bit of brick house)! Alas, we ended up winning a big prize!!! We won a Spiderman Big Wheels motorized 4-wheeler!!! SCORE!!! We can't wait until Madi is old enough to go toolin' around the back yard chasin' dogs, ducks, cats, etc. on her big wheels!!! Woo Hoo!!

Man Tag! You're it! Copy all the questions and fill in your own answers!

1. How long have you been married? 1 Year and 2 months
2. How long did you date? We dated for about 11 months
3. Who eats more sweets? That is definitely a toss-up... we both get monster sweet tooths/teeth
4. Who said I love you first? He did - In a text. I thought he was kidding... he wasn't.....
5. How old is he? just freshly 27
6. Who is taller? Most definitely Bryon. I am borderline little people here!!!
7. Who is smarter? I plead the fifth....
8.Who can sing better? Wow, I would say we both suck, but Bryon is convinced he is a talented singer. The other night we were watching American Idol and he asked me if he went on there if I would vote for him..... Um...... let me get back to you on that..... yikes!
9. Who does the laundry? I do. Bryon is good at taking the clothes out and switching the loads... now we just need to work on folding the clothes! Ü
10. Who pays the bills? I do. It may have something to do with being a control freak or my OCD.... I don't know.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do
12. Who mows the lawn? Neither of us. We live in my parents basement... plus my dad is super weird about making patterns in the lawn.... yadda yadda... so we don't have to do it....
13. Who cooks dinner? I do.... if we cook. We usually go out for dinner.
14.Who drives? Bryon does! I HATE DRIVING!!!
15. Who is more stubborn? That would have to be me. I am just a brat really! I kind of fell bad for Bryon. He is so easy going and then there is me........

17. Who asked who out? Interesting story, we actually were set up on a blind date.... it was very weird at first but it all worked out in the end.
18. Who proposed? He did - It was October 22, 2006. Bryon invited me to go fishing with him up Tibble Fork. I thought it was strange because I didn't even have a license and it was colder than crap!!!! But I went a long because it seemed important at the time. So we drove up there and the lake was practically frozen! I started to get really irritated because when we got there we let our dogs out and they ran away so we had to chase them for like a half hour! Yeah, I was not happy. Then Bryon gets his stuff out to Fish.... are you kidding me!!! It was so COLD!! Typical me, I start pouting so he said that we could go and pulled out the ring... AWE.... for tender!
19.Who has more siblings? I do

Thanks Kelly!

Sweet Potatoes!! YUMMY!!!

So, we have still been experimenting with the different types of foods with Madi. So far she has pretty much LOVED all of the fruits (except peaches) and she has HATED all of the veggies and meats! Well, we decided to try out sweet potatoes. We really didn't know what to expect. Can I just tell you that we have found her new favorite! I have never seen her get so excited over food! It did smell like spaghetti O's though, even I was tempted to take a bite! Ü She was so into scarfing it down that I was having a hard time keeping up with her and needless to say, she got a little messy! Check out the food on her nose! I'm glad we found her favorite, cuz I sure love to see this little smile - even when it's all covered in food!!!!

I just wanted to show these roses how beautiful you are...

Those of you that know me, know how bad I have been wanting Bryon to buy me flowers! I didn't care what the occasion was, I just wanted flowers! Well, this Valentines Day, he came through!!! I am a little bit late posting this but wow, they were beautiful flowers! I just had to put them on here so everyone could see. He had the sweetest card with them too, it made me cry! I have the best husband in the whole world!!! I love you honey!!

The Near Death Exerience

Sunday we had quite the horrific event! I was down in our apartment trying to put Madi to sleep and my grandma came down and told me that our neighbor had just come over to let us know that we had a horse caught in something. In past experience I just assumed one of the horses had gotten a shoe stuck in the fence while pawing for food. So I took Madi up stairs and started out to the porch and saw my horse, Dancer, all jacked up behind the 4wheeler trailers. I just ran out through the snow without shoes on still holding on to Madi. My neighbor Robin stopped me half way there and told me not to go over there because her leg was broken. I about lost it! Those of you that know me know that next to my family, my horses are my life! Dancer is my baby and the thought of losing her was not something I wanted to think about! I took Madi back inside and gave her to my grandma and went down stairs to call Bryon. I broke down and told him that he needed to come home because I thought we were going to have to put Dancer down. I went back out side to help but I couldn't look at her so I just held on to George, our other horse who was out with Dancer. It kept her calm to have him next to her, so I just sat and held him while all of the neighbors tried to free her from the pallets on the trailers. I guess what had happened was George got to pushin' Dancer around and scared her back behind our two 4 wheeler trailers that we had one on top of the other. The top trailer had a stack of old pallets on them and she got her back leg stuck through 2 of them. Then while trying to free herself she got her other shoe stuck in the chainlink fence, so she didn't have either of her back feet on the ground. The way she was stuck her legs were twisted up weird and it was forcing her to basically sit sideways on the trailer. The neighbors were breaking the boards from the pallets to try to free her. After completely breaking down the 2 pallets and pulling her other shoe, she finally got free but wouldn't get up off the trailer. At this point we were all worried that she had broken at least a leg and probably her hip. I still couldn't look at her. After a bit of rough persuasion, she got up but wouldn't put her leg down. We tried to walk her out and as we were a fire truck pulls up. Aparently, in all of the hysteria, my neighbor called 911 and the emergency vet. When the fire truck showed up and saw Dancer was up they called off the reinforcements that were on their way. I was SO embarassed! The Vet showed up about 5 minutes later and gave her a thorough check up. Other than several cuts she appeard to be ok. She had definitely torn up the muscles in her back end and blood will drain and cause a hematoma to build on her stifle, he said that there was still a possibility that she had broken a bone in her hip but that it wasn't a big deal and she would be ok. Everything appeared to be superficial. She has to be closed in her her stall which she hates and we have to clean her wounds morning and night and keep her on bute. I am just so happy that my baby is going to be ok! I am also pleased that I am no longer the queen of over reacting! I will gladly pass that torch on to Robin! Ü
This is the inside of Dancers Right hind leg

This is the inside of Dancers Left hind leg This is Dancers torn Stifle. This is the one that really hurts her.

THE AFTERMATH

The blood covered snow at the scene of the crime

This is what was left of the two pallets. Yikes what a mess!

Madi's first meal...Yum Yum

We took Madisyn in for her 6 month check up and were given the green light to start her on baby food. We have been looking forward to this day for a LONG time! We had our video camera and picture camera ready as not to miss a single minute. She was adorable! She tried to suck on the spoon like a bottle and it took her a minute to figure out what was happening but when she did, man watch out! She was a little piglet! She ended up with food all over! We had fed her bananas and she acted like she was in heaven! I couldn't believe how good she did.

The next bottle of food that we tried to feed her was peas. Madi was not quite as impressed with those as she was the banana's. Bryon and I had a movie date planned for Saturday afternoon and Madi hung out with Kevin and Tenille. They attempted to feed her the peas and she ended up boycotting eating all together! She wouldn't eat food again until Sunday morning when I bribed her to eat with bananas and applesauce. I thought Madi wasn't ever going to find something that she loved as much as bananas, I was wrong. That kid can put the applesauce away! She ate more in one sitting than she has eaten all week.
