Mothers Day 2009

Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day with Bryon's family and spent the afternoon/evening at Murray Park. The whole fam damily was there. It was great to get everyone together and just relax and enjoy the nice weather.

Bryon's cousin Nathan was in town and we were so glad we got to spend some time with him before he heads back home.

Kenzi did a good job of keeping Madi entertained for a while. Skyler was working on his pitching so all the boys took turns practicing with him. (What are you so happy about Kenz?) Ü

Bryon was loving playing with Skyler.... re-living the glory days.....

After playing with Skyler the guys all needed a breather but Madi wasn't ready to sit down.....

She wanted to climb the big hill......

As the evening winded down we went over to the river and saw the geese and Madi found some monkey bars that were just her size. She LOVED them!!! She would yell at whomever was closest "Daddy, watch me" and she would hang there forever!

Kenzi tried to do some pull ups....there not as easy as they look.....

Then it was Bry's turn to show off his big muscles......

Madi took a break only long enough to dance and sing the Little Einsteins theme song.... this kid has some mad dancing skills....check out those chicken wings!Finally it was too cold to stay any longer. Kenzi and Bryon raced back to the cars, sorry B, I think Kenzi won....It was a good day...

Race for the Cure 5.9.09

I have been the biggest blogging slacker and I apologize! It is funny how the weather warms up and you find yourself with less time to take care of the indoor activities. We have had quite a bit going on in our lives and I hope to get you all caught up. This past weekend in particular was very eventful. For those of you that know my sister-in-law Kristin, you know that she is an avid runner. She is incredibly active and participates in several 5K's throughout the year. The first on her agenda this year was Race for the Cure. As part of Bryon and my weight loss goal we have decided to enter in the 5K's that Kristin does and hopefully by the end of the year we'll be running the whole thing. I said hopefully. The great thing about our family is we all support each other. Kevin and Tenille entered along with my mom. Everyone else wanted to come but either had a back injury or were stuck at work. Nonetheless, the race must go on. The race started on 3rd West and ended back on 4th West. It was a lot of fun and the weather couldn't have been any more perfect! We had to make a little detour when we got there so I'd like to say that we really went 4 miles instead of the 3.2 but who's counting, right? After walking all the way through the gateway and back tracking back past the ESA we found the start line and we were off!The pace was a little slow at first so we just more or less ambled our way down 3rd West. Kevin and Tenille snuck in a photo op....

Along with a little bit of cutesy time..... Ahhhhhh

We had made it to the end of 3rd West and we were rounding the corner to head back up 4th...

By this time Madi was getting a little bit restless. Who can blame her?

Bry got her out of her stroller and let her ride on his shoulders..........Which didn't last very long. She is SO independent. She wanted to participate too. She even ran for a little bit.....When we got to the cheerleaders they screamed and yelled and really wanted Madi to give them high 5's. Very reluctantly she did.....But she was scared from all the yelling and decided she liked Bryon carrying her best. Here we are at the finish line. Don't we look proud!?!?!?
