Easter Afternoon

Our cute little nephew, Christopher, was blessed on Easter Sunday. We gathered all of our stuff and headed over to their church at 11:00am.... ..and then hung out at their house after. We had the usual ham and funeral potatoes which were delicious! After that Barb had a little Easter egg hunt with a lesson the kids found eggs one by one and read the message in each egg. Here is Madi taking her turn....
Apparently she was getting a little bit bored. She started putting her fingers in her ears.... Sassy girl! Next up was Grandma with her money eggs for the kids. They all took their turns dividing up their eggs.....Finally we headed outside for another Easter egg hunt. Madi was even more excited about this one than the one from this morning. I think she was really getting the hang of things. Later that night we went over to Bryon's parents house and spent some quality time with them. We wished we could have stayed longer over there but some of us have to work, the bills don't pay themselves, you know!?! Ü This was a great Easter and we were so happy that we were able to spend it with our families. Thanks for sharing the holiday with us everyone!

Easter Morning

Easter morning brought us one happy child. We were a little bit worried that Madi wasn't going to grasp the concept. Luckily, the Easter Bunny took all of that in to consideration and didn't hide the eggs too hard for Madi. At first she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. We prompted her to find the first egg and she was hooked from there. She was loving every minute of it. Here are a collection of pictures we captured of the moment.....

Letters from Mom

Sweet Madisyn,

I can't believe my little baby is 20 months old! Where does the time go? You have been so much fun this past month. The weather has been off and on getting warmer and we have been able to go out side a lot more. You have been helping me with the animals too. You love to open the gate to the dog kennel and let the dogs out only to yell at them to get "in kennel" right after they are out. They listen to you and go back in, sitting there anxiously waiting for you to tell them it's ok to come back out. Somehow you get sidetracked with everything else that you make them wait until they are ready to explode! They love you so much though Madi. Even though every one of them is twice your size they are very careful when they are around you; even Buddy, who usually has ZERO regard for ANYTHING around him. He usually bulldozes everything in his path. The other day you found his retreiving dummy and started carrying it around with you. Buddy noticed this and thought you were going to play with him. He very slowly followed your every tiny step across the back yard waiting for you to throw it. Daddy showed you how to play fetch with him and apparently the only thing you remembered is making Buddy "heel". Now, everytime we go out back you go straight for the dummy and walk around with Buddy yelling at him to "heel" which he does.

You are getting so brave in your old age! You now try to stand up on the seat of your rocking horse. You give me a heart attack every time I catch you doing that! A couple of weeks ago Tyler and Ashley were at our house and they were jumping from Grandma's couch on to the love sac and apparently you thought you were a big girl too. You climbed up on the love sac and jumped with all your might on the couch. Luckily you made it. I just think maybe we should hold off on jumping off of things until you are a little bit older.....

You love to tell me who is on your diapers. We buy the Huggies Natural Fit (best diapers ever) and they have Tigger, Pooh and Eyeore on them. The other day when you were stinky, I asked you if I could check your bum for poo and you said to me "and Tigger". So cute! I love these little things about you!

Last month we discovered you share my passion for horses/animals. This month we discovered your shared passion with your daddy - KETCHUP!!! (Seriously, if you have never been witness to Bryon's ketchup eating habits, you have no idea! He puts ketchup on EVERYTHING and not just a smidgen, he smothers everything!) You love to share food with Daddy and I and the day you noticed the sauce that daddy puts everything in was the beginning of the end. One taste and you were hooked. Now anytime we eat dinner you always asks us to put some "kepitch" on your tray for dipping. Sometimes you'll even scoop up the "kepitch" in your spoon and eat it plain.... I still love you!

You are getting a little bit bossy and that is something we are going to need to correct as soon as possible. The other day Daddy and I had been working in the backyard all night and by the time we came inside it was late and we were exhausted and in no mood to cook dinner. Nana gave you some money and told you to give it to your daddy to buy you a hamburger. You handed Dad the money and said "hamburger, go get it" and you pointed to the front door. Although it was hilarious to witness, you really need to work on your manners. I'm sure we'll work on that A LOT this next month. I look forward to our Easter Egg Hunt this month and all the rest of the memories we will make.

Love you babe!
Mom
