4wheelin' Mama...

On Sunday when we got home from Logan we decided to set up Madi's 4wheeler (finally)! So Bryon busted out the box and started putting it together. I think Madi remembers riding our big 4wheeler and figured out what it was pretty quick. She would not leave Bryon alone while he was working on it. She kept grabbing the handle bars and rocking back and forth like she wanted to go. Since the battery had to charge for 18 hours, she was only able to sit on it, but she didn't care! She LOVES that thing! Here she is helping Bryon set it up. Notice the dryer sheet she has in her hand that she seems to be using to polish up her ride....

Here she is on the maiden voyage! Woo woo!!!!

....and here she is reminding us exactly why we spoil our child rotten....

it's all about the smile!

I'm a Pouty Pants!

I took this picture the other day and have neglected to post it until now. It is too funny not to share. At first glance this looks like Madi had fallen asleep on the floor and some joker put her doll on her back. In reality, Madi had thrown a gigantic fit, threw her doll in the air (which landed perfectly on her back) and preceeded to throw herself on the ground in a full on pout! The funny thing is, I have no idea what she was even pouting about, but whatever it was, it sure ticked her off! Some days this kid is full of it!

Madi's LAST Bottle

It has been a long way to this point!! To any of you that are thinking that formula feeding is the way to go for your baby.... think again!!! It is SO expensive! I can't believe it! You pretty much need a second job to afford it! Especially when your baby requires special formula! Anyway, since Madi is now officially 1 year old, it is time to retire the formula. We had one big can of it left and decided to just let her finish it off. The day finally came! We took some pictures in honor of the big day! All I can say is WOO HOO!!!!
Here is Madi showing off the last couple of ounces of formula.
The first taste of the last bottle.....
Savor the flavor.... it's all over now!!! Ü

Madi's new BFF

This past weekend we had our Region horse show up in Logan for our riding club association. Bryon, Madi and I packed up our car and headed up to Logan about 9:30'ish on Friday morning. We were a little bit apprehensive about taking Madi up there to camp in a tent all night but we went anyway. We got up there about 11:30 and had just enough time to change our clothes and had to be in the arena to show. My team did alright, no complaints, we just weren't fast enough to move on to state. Anyway, that was my only event up there so we had the whole rest of the weekend to hang out and support our other club members in all of their events. Madi has recently decided that she LOVES to ride the horses! My friend JoDee's little brother Andy puts her up on the horses just about everytime he holds her, hence, Madi has a new best friend! We would be sitting in the bleachers and if JoDee or Andy rode by Madi would start whining and reaching for them! Luckily for Madi, Andy didn't have too many events and he was able to take her around a lot. Here are some of their precious moments this weekend.

Here Madi is just checking everything out from the back of a horse.

Here, Madi and Andy are out riding in the arena during the cow cutting

Ta Da!!! Madi is doing her best impression of a Queen wave

And here is our little future Maverick, taking the reins and ready to join!

After a full day of riding, Andy and Madi were pretty tired, they were perfectly content to take a nap under a tree in the cool breeze.

Jake & Tana were nice enough to let Madi use their tub in their trailer after an unfortunate diaper incident that ended up needing 3 people to take down. Wow, what a mess! Here is Madi after her tub chilling on the blanket like nothin' happened.....

During the Cow Cutting, we sat in the bleachers and watched and tried to keep Madi occupied while Jodee and Andy were busy. She decided it would be fun to play with Dad's sunglasses. How cute is she?

The weekend turned out better than we planned. Madi was really good for the most part and most of our club members moved on in everything they did. Some even placed 1st in their events. Way to go Mavericks!!!!

How funny is this?

So this past Friday and Saturday I had a horse show. My entire family went bow-hunting and so I was flyin' solo with Madzilla. It was kind of a circus for a while but we made it. Anyway, on Saturday morning I was trying to clean out the dishwasher and get Madi dressed, etc. and wasn't being very successful at either. I had gotten Madi's shirt on and after an enormous struggle, Madi was up and crawling away from me as fast as she could. I had left her shorts on the floor and proceeded to clean out the dishwasher. A few minutes later I look over at her and she was putting her shorts on her head like a hat! What a dork! It was so funny I hurried and grabbed the camera to get a few shots. Here she is in all of her glory!
Here she is getting them situated just right......
And here she is crawling at me in a blinding fury.....
And helping me clean out the dishwasher.....
She got bored pretty quick with the dishes and headed out to do her own thing....

Finally she had had enough of me laughing at her and taking pictures and she just started to cry. Isn't she just so precious!?

Happy Birthday Madi!

Madi celebrated her first birthday on Sunday August 3, 2008. We headed over to a park by our house for a family BBQ. Madi couldn't have been more excited!!!

Here is the Davis Family! We were so happy that everyone could make it!

Madi scored some great gifts! (which she tore into with a frightening amount of fury!) She mostly got clothes, which she desperately needed, but she got some really fun games too!

Here's Madi modeling her new hat and checking out her cute jacket from Cory, Barb & Family!! Madi loved all of her new shirts and her pretty brown dress from Chad, Kristin & Family!

Kevin & Tenille set Madi up with her own pair of baby Nike Shox. Since we go walking together (and all of us wear shox) they couldn't pass up the opportunity to set her up so she would match us all too!

Madi got a great Alphabet learning bus from Justyn, Amy & Family. She LOVES to take the frogs out of the bus and try to put them back in! It is really cute!Madi got her first Dolly from Grandma & Grandpa Doyle. She loves to carry her around with her. Who would have thought that MY child would want to play with a doll?Of course her dad had to get her some bath tub toys, ie. a fishing pole for the tub. She is going to love it! Maybe it won't be so hard to talk Bryon in to giving the little squirt a bath if they can fish together! Ü

Madi got a 4Wheeler so that she can ride around the back yard with Dad now on her own "machine"!

Grandpa Davis hand made Madi her very own Rocking Horse. It is SO cute! I know that he put A LOT of time and effort in to making that for her and she couldn't love it any more! At first she wasn't sure about it but now, she is a rockin' fool! She loves to rock as hard as she can. She actually tries to rock when we put her on the real horses now. It is really funny!

After Madi had torn into all of her gifts, she was ready for something new (she is tapping her hands on the 4 wheeler box). It was Cake Time!!!!

Isn't Madi's cake cute? Jaci, Madi's sitter, has a relative that makes cakes. She was gracious enough to make this awesome cake for our little angel!

You would think that Madi is afraid to get dirty or something. We set the cake out for her and she just kept breaking off small pieces to eat. She really wasn't that messy at all. It was kind of funny! She is too cute! We really appreciated all of the gifts that Madi received and we are so thankful that everyone could make it (except my dad, he was stuck at work). We love all of you!

Breaking Dawn Festivities...

Ok, I really hope that no one makes fun of me, but IT WAS FUN!!! In my previous post I had stated that Tenille and I had made plans to go to the Breaking Dawn shin-dig down at the local Walmart! Ü So, about 9:00pm we headed down there. As soon as we walked in we felt stupid! I mean seriously.... who wears an evening gown to a friggin' book release party?!?! Who you may ask... this girl......
The line there was ridiculously long, but it was fun. Tenille and I plopped down and played a little Phase 10, a little Uno.... it helped pass the time. There was a really nice girl that was in line next to us that would save our spot if we wanted to go somewhere.... i.e. to stand in line to get bite marks painted on our necks..... yeah, that's right, we got in to the WHOLE spirit of the party! Ü (This is me getting my bite mark painted on... sweet!!!)

Some of the people in line started pulling chairs from the camping area for a place to sit. The employees figured it out and started checking for receipts of purchase. Luckily this little girl had paid for hers, or her mom had at least. She spilled her free drink all over her chair. Her mom left her with her sister to go and get something to clean it up with and the little girl continued to drink her soda..... from out of the chair..... too funny! We scored some killer swag.... i.e. fake teeth, necklace, wedding ring, stickers, the whole she-bang! It was great!

Finally, they handed out books at 11:30. Even though we couldn't officially buy the books until 12:01. We got a jump on things and headed to the registers so that we didn't have to wait in too long of a line. GOOD IDEA!!! We were out of there by 12:04! While waiting, we scored a chance at a shirt, but didn't spin the wheel to the correct spot to win. We were bummed out that we didn't win but were more annoyed with the incredible rude GROWN WOMEN in line behind us that were so rude to the KIDS that were in line with us that I almost punched one in the face! But that is a whole different story all together! So by the time we got back to my house we were extremely tired and in a goofy mood. Since Bryon had waited up for me, we went inside for a few funny pictures and some laughs! That is exactly what we got! All in all, it was a great night!!!! Oh and the book is great too!!!

The wait is over.....

Ok, I am NOT one of those people to wait in long lines and dress up in a costume to see a new movie. I am NOT one of those people that camp out in line for concert tickets. I am NOT one of those people that get all worked up about the release of a new book in a series. Oh wait.... I guess I am. Sort of. I didn't take the day off work or anything like that. In case you haven't figured it out, I am going to get the new Stephenie Meyer book, Breaking Dawn tonight with Tenille, Kristin & Julie. I wasn't one of the original "Twilighters". I just started reading them a couple of weeks ago, but I loved them so much I zipped right through them and like just about everyone else, I am anxiously awaiting Breaking Dawn. Now let me add my disclaimer, I am still NOT one of those people that wait in line for a copy of a new release book. Tenille had casually mentioned it and Kristin and Julie are going so we thought, what the heck! We'll make an appearance and if it is too hokey, we'll bail! Personally, just hearing the media coverage of all of this and hearing about how long people have been waiting in line ALREADY, I don't forsee us staying too long. I'm not what people call a, "people person"! But, I am willing to step out of the box and make an attempt to be one in order to get this book. I feel bad for my husband, because I am pretty sure once I get my hands on this book, my whole world will be put on hold until I finish it. For those of you that haven't read them, I strongly suggest you give them a shot. They really are awesome books and I can't wait to hear about the latest with Bella, Jacob & Edward! Happy Reading!!!
