Madi's First Sleepover!!!!

This past Saturday night Madi had the opportunity to spend the night at her Uncle Kevin & Aunt Tenille's house. Bryon has been working so much and we haven't seen him at all it seems. So we decided it was time for a date night... sans the Madster! We ended up going to see The Dark Knight. It was excellent! I actually stayed awake throught the whole thing, which in and of itself is pretty amazing! On the way home, we couldn't resist and had to call to check on our little Monster! As expected, she was doing great and had been asleep until our untimely call.... Sorry! The next morning we got up bright and early to take the horses up the canyon for a relaxing trailride. It was so nice! Don't get me wrong, I love Madi more than anything, but sometimes it is nice to get out on our own and just relax! By the time we got home from our ride we couldn't wait any longer and went and picked up Madi. Leaving her for a night was semi-painful but the reaction we got when we walked in the door was worth it all! I have never seen Madi get so excited over something in my entire life! She almost jumped out of Kevin's arms! Anyway, we really appreciate Kevin & Tenille taking Madi (all the time) they are such lifesavers as are the rest of our family members, always helping us out of a bind! We couldn't do it without all of you!
THANK YOU!!!

I just thought I would add this picture. This is how Madi looked after Uncle Kevin did her hair a couple of weeks ago. Luckily this is not how we found her after her sleepover! She had her hair done and it was adorable!

Sleeping Babies...

I don't know how I haven't posted this picture before now! I just saw this pic and fell in love all over again! What a cute husband I have!!! He loves our daughter more than anything in the world and I am so grateful for that! There are a lot of people out there that don't get any help from their husbands. Mine does it, not because I nag him (which I don't, right honey?) but because he genuinely loves to spend time with her! I love when I get to catch them in a photo moment like this one. I could just stare at them for hours......

Our very own money pit!!!

Wow, it's a good thing I love my horses or this little guy would be down the friggin' road! As you know, when Bryon and I got married we bought him a horse (that I have officially taken over). I guess we didn't factor in that he is 19 years old and that he was going to have issues, can I just say that he has been SO expensive to maintain!?! We had the whole ordeal with the Ulcers and the trauma that it took to figure out the issue. As a result of the ulcers he got terrible bed sores on his front legs. We have had a heck of a time keeping them cleaned and healing. Everytime one heals up the other gets bad and so on and so forth.... Well, I went to my very first horse show after having Madi and right in the middle of my class, he started limping really bad....... WHAT NOW!?!?!?! Seriously, I was so upset! So we had the farrier out to do some hoof tests on him and then the vet out to block him and take a million x-rays, it turns out he has Navicular. I guess the best way to describe what that is - is inflamation or degeneration of the navicular bone (thank you Wikipedia) which sits in the foot. Basically his bone is pushing down on the tender part (frog) of his foot. So every time he takes a step he is feeling it in his bones in his front legs. I can only imagine how painful that is! Anyway, the best solution for our old guy right now is special shoes. He is now wearing the Dr. Marten's (or todays equivalent to the 90's version of top selling shoes) of horse shoes. Check this out!

His shoe is made up of a thick rubber wedge, A mesh layering and a thick cushion material that works similar to Dr. Scholls and the metal shoe of course. I hate paying the shoe bill every 8 weeks but he is feeling better than ever before! I guess he is worth it... I'm kidding, we love this old man and he is worth his weight in gold!

Take me out to the ball game.....

Last week we were invited to go with Grandma Davis to Skyler's (Madi's cousin) baseball game. It was at a park that was really close to our house so we met Grandma at Subway for a bite to eat and headed over to the ball field. It was a really nice day so we sat on the outfield on a blanket. Madi had a lot of fun people watching. She has a tendancy to stare at people giving them minor complexes but that just one of the many reasons why we love her! She also enjoyed unloading all of the contents of her diaper bag.

Check out that little hottie layin on the ball field! Hubba Hubba!!!

I think Madi got a little bit bored though! She resorted to eating grass.... Maybe we need to feed her more.....
We did however get the shot of the night! Check out how cute this picture turned out! I can't get over what a cute kid we have! How in the world did that happen!?!?!?!?
P.s. Final score of the game..... I have no clue! Sorry Skyler! We did see you hit one almost clear out of the park buddy! Way to go!

My Darling Daughter.....

As if you can't tell, I LOVE my daughter! On occasion, in between temper tantrums and mood swings she does the CUTEST things! Ü I can't even begin to tell you everything she has done to brighten my days. This past Saturday she pulled about the cutest stunt I have ever seen! We were hanging out together, trying to be quiet and not wake Daddy up since he was working graveyards. I noticed Madi kept going by our pictures hanging next to our door. Everytime she would see them she would reach up and point to something and grin. I picked her up and she started rambling something, who knows what, but I kept hearing Da da in there. So I asked her "Where's Da-da?" and without skipping a beat she pointed right at her dad in the picture. I'm not afraid to admit it... I cried! It just never fails to amaze me to see everything click together for her. She is starting to really figure things out.
After we had enough of being quiet I thought it would be fun to get Madi in her new swimsuit and go play in her pool. Of Course we had to model the suit off first. Grandma & Grandpa were working on the deep freezer (apparently my dad had an archery mis-hap that involved the freezer). So our first stop was out to check their progress and do a little bit of modeling.

Ok, seriously.... how cute is that?????

I just couldn't stop there. We had to do a little bit of fun photos. My sassy little one pulled out her best vogue faces.... what do you think?

Our tired little stink bug...

Ok, so those of you that know me know what a sucker I am for Madi's cute little face! Even though she goes to bed just fine in her own bed I still can't stand to not have her at least fall asleep in bed with me and then have her dad put her in her crib after I have had my fill of her cuteness (I'm not bias or anything Ü). The other night I had given her a bottle and laid her in bed with me surrounded by pillows and she just couldn't get comfortable. I felt so bad. She kept moaning and rolling around trying to find a spot that she could relax in, when suddenly it happened! She found the spot! The little dork had rolled under a pillow and stuck her adorable diaper butt in the air just like a stink bug! It was so funny I had to sit and laugh at her. Luckily the camera was close by so we took a few pictures. How cute is this?

Summer Time....

So, as I'm sure everyone has noticed, it has been REALLY hot lately and we have been having a hard time keeping Madi cooled off while we are outside. SInce Madi loves playing in the water, we decided to get our little toad a pool to splash around in. Since she is growing so quickly, we just wanted to get her a cheap little tiny pool that she could just have fun in this summer. We ran down to Walmart and found the "hoppy pool". It was just too stinkin' cute! We brought it home, and wouldn't you know our luck, it started storming! So we waited and waited and waited. It started getting later in the day so we thought we would just set up the pool and have everything ready and let her play in it the next day. So we got it set up and thought it would be cute to put her in without any water just to watch her play and see if she even liked it. The toad pool was a hit! Although it was adorable to see her playing in the pretend water, we decided we just had to fill it up. It had warmed up quite a bit and we knew she would have a blast in there. Right when we set her in she imediately got a HUGE smile on her face. She was having so much fun when out of no where, Dad jumped around the side and scared her to death! She almost jumped completely out of the pool. It was hilarious! Madi thought it was pretty funny when dad was splashing water with her until it hit her in the face.... It wasn't so funny anymore.... She started getting bored so dad pulled out the big guns. The pool has a built in sprinkler! Daddy started it up and after showing Madi what it was, she decided the pool was fun again! The pool was obviously a HIT with Mads so I am sure we will be out side sittin' poolside helping her splash. So if any of you find yourself overheated, head on over to our place, Madi would love to share!
