New clothes!

I couldn't help it! I have to post pictures of Mads in her new outfit! It is just too cute to resist! Don't mind the pill bottle in her hand..... It has a marble and a chain in it. Some times the best toys don't cost a thing! Ü Check out those pearly white new teeth!!! (look close, they are there)

Strike a pose!

The difference a couple of minutes makes

As with all children I suppose, their moods can change REALLY quickly! The other night it was getting close to Madi's bed time and that is when she is the most moody. She was in her jammies hanging out on Grandma & Grandpa's lovesac sayin buy to Kevin and Tenille when out of no where came on the emotional rollercoaster. It is amazing to think that these pictures were taken just moments apart.

Disclaimer: Please don't judge us on how our little rag-a-muffin looks in these pictures. I assure you she isn't some homeless child we picked up of the street. Sometimes it just isn't worth the fight to get her all spiffied up right before bed time!

Madi fought the chair.... and the chair won

As you know, my little Mads has started crawling. Now that she has started she doesn't stop.... and she has gotten fast! She boogies right across the floor in the flash of an eye! Anyway, my Mom had invited us to eat dinner with them so there we were, sitting around the table. Madi was on the floor playing around and crawling from one place to the next. She really wanted to go to my Mom so she crawled over to where she was. Apparently kneeling on the floor wasn't close enough for Madi so she got the great idea to climb up the bar stool to check things out. She got about half way when her weight pulled the bar stool righ on top of her. Luckily my parents have a thick rug under their dinner table that her head landed on but the chair had no where to go. It landed right on her head. I can honestly say I don't think I have ever moved so quickly in my entire life. I have never heard a scream so big and loud come out of something so small. Madi was inconsolable. I couldn't help it! I broke in to tears too. It was so hard seeing my little one in so much pain! I took her in to my parents bed room and rocked her a little bit. Once she mellowed out we assessed the damages.....The culprit
Check out the knot on her little noggin....
That's going to leave a mark......
What a little trooper!
Surprisingly it looks a lot better this morning. We have our fingers crossed that it doesn't bruise. We will definitly stay away from the bar stools until we get things mastered a little bit more. Not to mention the fake flowers that she ate yesterday, but that is whole different story all together!

Oh Boy! We have Piggies!!

Not real piggies, although I would love to get one! Madi came home from the babysitters with her hair in pig tails! She looked so grown up! I couldn't believe what a difference a little bit of hair makes! Anyway, I tried to get some pictures where you could see them but it was really hard. Here is what we got....

Now tell me that isn't too stinkin' cute!!!!

Rule Number 1.... we don't jog.....

So in an effort to try to slim down the ole waist line (ha ha ha) my sister and I have started walking occasionally. She has a monster of a hill pretty close to her house so we make the climb up it and then stroll the rest of the 3 miles or so that it takes to get home. Not too shabby. Although, I must admit, I really expected it to get easier the more we do it, but it doesn't. We are still huffing and puffing as we climb that friggin hill! But what makes it even worse is that Kevin will jog up it. Sometimes, he'll go up and come back to where we are, just to climb it again. Some people just have to show off! Ü The good thing about Kevin being so much more in shape than us is that while we are struggling to keep oxygen in our lungs he can entertain Madi. Anyway, here are some pictures of the other night when we had just about finished. This is the home stretch folks! Kevin just couldn't wait any longer to get Madi out of her stroller and play. I thought these pictures were too cute not to share.....

A monumental day in the Davis Home....

It has finally happened! I knew this day would come, it just came way too soon! My little baby Madi is no longer a baby. She has started crawling (finally)! It is funny because about 3 months ago, people started asking us if she was crawling yet. It kind of hit us smack dab in the head that in order for her to grow and progress we actually had to put her down once in a while. We have just been so used to babying her and holding her all the time, she never had the chance to get down on the ground and actually learn some of the neccessary skills to grow! It was SO hard for us to put her down. We had created a monster! Every time we would put her on her belly (tummy time) she would scream bloody murder, thus breaking her mommy's heart and causing me to pick her up. It was such a hard transition to make, but alas, it was completed and all of our hard work with her finally paid off. She was home with her daddy yesterday afternoon and he had set her down to change his clothes and he looked over and slowly but surely she made her way across our front room and back. He called me as quickly as his little fingers could dial and by the sound of his voice, you would have thought we had just won the lottery (have I told you that I have the cutest husband in the whole world?)! He was so excited to tell me the news. So last night when I got home from work I headed over to my sisters house and we had to recreate the moment so that we could catch it on film. Here is what we got.

Preparing for the big event!

And she's off.....

Almost there.....

The sweet taste of success.....

Ta Da!!!!!!

This is just the beginning of many, many monumental moments I am sure. They are so bitter sweet! I love seeing her accomplish new things but everytime she does it makes me a little sad to know that she is growing up so fast!

Madi's New Room....

Poor Madi! She is 10 months old and her entire life she has been displaced with no room of her own. Poor kid had to shack up with ole mom and dad..... until today. I am happy to say that she has her very own room! My dad did such a great job on it too! For those of you that know my dad, he has a VERY creative mind. When he makes something he puts his own special touch on it. If you ever come over, look really closely at the texture on the walls, you just might see something. Ü
Here is Madi's Crib all set up in her new room. It looks great in there! I think she is pretty excited! Can't you just see the excitement in her face?Madi had just had her diaper changed in her new room and she was trying to talk to her daddy. Her personality comes out more and more every day! She is such a hoot to listen to.
Here is my little angel all tucked in for her first night in her new room! I must admit, I kind of had a hard time with it. We couldn't get the little radio deal to work so I was so worried she was going to wake up in the middle of the night and we weren't going to be able to hear her. So we left EVERY door in the house wide open so that we had a better chance to hear her if she did wake up. I have to tell you though, we have the best baby in the whole world! That kid is something else! She sleeps on average, 10 hours through the night. It isn't even like this is new either! She has been the best sleeper from the beginning. I really lucked out because I am a BEAR if I don't get enough sleep at night! I didn't have anything to worry about. When I got up for work she was still sound asleep! That kid is definitely a keeper!

Sorry I'm a Slacker!!!

So I realize that I am not the best at keeping up on these things. I am pretty sure we are probably the LEAST interesting people! I just don't even know what to tell you all. I wish I were kidding! The last little while we have been finishing Madi's room. I am glad to say that it is finally done!!!! WooHoo! I talked to Bryon today and since he is off work he did all the hard stuff and took apart her crib and moved her in. He said that when he finished he put some toys in her crib and stuck her in there to play and she was happy as a clam. I am guessing she is ok with her new diggs. I do have to tell you how cute my husband is though. So he calls me and is telling me that he did all this work in there but that we need to go and find a night stand or something to put in her room. I asked him why because she already has a closet and a dresser. I never expected what came out of his mouth next. He proceeds to tell me that we need a nightstand to put a TV on for her so she can watch TV in her room! WHAT? The kid is 10 months old, it isn't like now she has her own room we can just plop her infront of a tv and leave her in there to entertain herself. Am I crazy? People don't do this right? I mean, normal people don't do this..... yet.......... Seriously he thinks she is like us and likes to watch Simpsons as we fall asleep, seriously. Too cute! That is why I love him. Well, since we only take pictures of Madi anymore, here is a cute picture of her and her dad in her new favorite way of being held. Those are some pinchable cheeks right there. Oh buddy!
